More from the Mob Museum...

LAS VEGAS (July 2014) – On Tuesday and Wednesday, August 12 and 13, The Mob Museum, the National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement, will host the exclusive first Las Vegas screenings of Whitey: United States of America v. James J. Bulger. August 12 is the one-year anniversary of Bulger’s conviction on 11 murder charges along convictions on charges of racketeering, narcotics and money laundering.
The film, which premiered at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival, will be shown at 7 p.m. on both days with seating starting at 6:30 p.m. Tickets cost $20 and include Museum admission, popcorn and a non-alcoholic beverage. Museum members receive a 10 percent discount.
Once ranked No. 2 on America’s Most Wanted list after Osama Bin Laden, James “Whitey” Bulger terrorized the city of Boston for years without ever being charged with so much as a misdemeanor. The infamous gangster wielded a mystique as the Robin Hood of South Boston. Separating the man from the myth, Whitey: United States of America v. James J. Bulger challenges conventional wisdom by detailing shocking new allegations.
With unprecedented access, filmmaker Joe Berlinger utilizes the sensational trial against Bulger as a springboard to explore corruption within the highest levels of law enforcement. Embedded for months with retired FBI agents, Massachusetts state police, victims, lawyers, gangsters, journalists and federal prosecutors, Berlinger scrutinizes Bulger’s relationship with the FBI and Department of Justice—a dynamic that ultimately allowed Bulger to reign over a criminal empire for decades.
Space is limited. To make reservations for either screening call (702) 229-2734 or log onto http://TheMobMuseum.org/Archives/Category/Events/.
